The next scheduled Promotion Test for the Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center will be held on Saturday March 23rd. The testing site is at the Westmont Park District. The test will start at 11:00 sharp.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Family members and friends are welcome to come and watch this important event in the student's life.

Students can be ineligible and taken off this list due to lack of progress, eligibility, or attendance. Being taken off this testing list simply means that the student needs additional time to learn the required material.

The promotion application and testing fee schedule will be passed out in class to the parents of the students. The completed promotion application and fee (cash or check made out to Barry Weisberg) are due on or before February 15th.

Please feel free to take photos and videos. As usual, I would kindly ask if you could please e-mail or text any photos and videos to Mr. Weisberg or post under visitor posts on Facebook.

Any students not testing are expected to attend the test and watch, learn, and support their fellow students who are testing. Tests are a learning experience, whether you are testing or not. Attending class and progressing in Taekwon-Do entails the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the art. Developing self-esteem, confidence, respect, setting goals, attitude, and discipline are part of life skills. This is in addition to the tenets of Taekwon-Do. Participating in or observing a class or test are all part of growing and learning in Taekwon-Do.

Please mark your calendars now. There are not any alternatives or make-up dates. Promotion tests are a big day for the students and a day of pride for their parents and all involved.

Good luck to our students who are testing. Also, a special thank you goes out to the parents of our students for all your support. Parents, you are the best and I appreciate everything you do.

Free Class/Demonstration at Westmont Park District

Please see below in case you are not on Facebook. ("This post" means Westmont Park District's post.)

Thank you.

Please refer to this post as we are starting a class in the Westmont Park District. A week before their session starts, there will be a free class/demonstration for all in attendance. I would kindly invite any students to please join Mr. Weisberg at the Westmont Park District on August 12. All students can assist and participate in this, especially the colored belts. Parents, please consider attending with your student. Westmont is not too far and I would greatly welcome your support. Afterwards, Mr. Weisberg will treat everyone to ice cream somewhere in the area. Please let me know if you can attend. Thank you.

Below is my comment on the Westmont Park District’s Facebook page. Please visit their page and like their post. Please comment if you wish.

The Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center would like to thank the Westmont Park District for their support. This free class, which starts promptly at 6:00 with an introduction to Mr. Weisberg and the school, kicks off our relationship with the park district. Kids, teenagers, and adults are all welcome to participate in this free class. Imagine how your self-esteem and confidence will be enhanced. Imagine how to set goals and work to achieve them, all while learning respect for yourself and others. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. The Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center is looking forward to a large turnout as we become part of the Westmont community. Barry Weisberg is the instructor and has 45 years of experience in Taekwon-Do. In addition to his Taekwon-Do background, Mr. Weisberg recently retired as a public school teacher and principal. For additional information, please visit www.weisbergtaekwondo.com

Demonstration at the Health and Wellness Festival

Let’s think spring! On Saturday May 15th, we will be part of Medinah’s Health and Wellness Festival. The festival will be outside from 1:00 to 4:00. There will be activities, demonstrations, magic shows, face painting, vendors, Zumba, Tai Chi, yoga, and of course Taekwon-Do.

Our Taekwon-Do demonstration will be under the pavilion from 1:20 to 1:50. This is a wonderful experience for all our students. We will be demonstrating various aspects of Taekwon-Do, including board breaking. We did a similar demonstration a couple of years ago and it was so much fun and highly successful. Last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic. We might even have a table like before.

Please mark your calendar today! We would like to have everyone attend and support our school. Please plan on attending, just as you would attend your promotion test or a local tournament. Most importantly, demonstrations like this build confidence, contribute to the students’ growth, and build comradery among the students. Again, please plan on this and put it on your calendar today!

This is for all students, including new white belts. If you just started and continue in Taekwon-Do, by May every one of the new white belt students will be just like the white belts you saw yesterday in your first class.

Parents, and adult students, thank you for your continued support.

Promotion Test

The next scheduled Promotion Test for the Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021. The testing site is at the Medinah Park District, 22W130 Thorndale Avenue, Medinah, Illinois. The test will start at 10:00 sharp. The test and belt ceremony are anticipated to end around 1:30, though that can change. What cannot change is the comprehensiveness and thoroughness of our promotion tests.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Family members, spouses, and friends are welcome to come and watch this important event in the student's life. Though due to the pandemic, please e-mail Mr. Weisberg and inform him exactly how many people, other than students, will be coming. At the most, there will be only two spectators per family allowed to watch the test in the testing room. Watching the test in the testing room will coincide with the student’s specific group being tested. A smaller group might allow for additional spectators.

Due to Illinois’ pandemic restrictions, there cannot be more than half the capacity of any room. Therefore, the maximum number of people in the testing room is 20, since the capacity of the room is double that.

Parents and other spectators not watching the test in the testing room will be sitting in the hallway. The test can be viewed live on our Facebook page and also viewed on the large monitor above the counter of the front desk

The students will be sitting in chairs, socially distanced, on one side of the testing room. Their water bottles will be placed on the floor under their chair. The students will remain in the room for the entire test.

Please feel free to take photos and videos. I encourage you to please post any photos and videos to our Facebook page and/or e-mail them to Mr. Weisberg.

Any students not testing from our Medinah or Elk Grove locations are encouraged to attend the test, watch, learn, and support their fellow students who are testing. Your turn will come, and you will receive that same support from other students.

Please mark your calendars. We do not have alternative dates or make-up tests. Promotion tests are held approximately every five to seven months or so. Promotion tests are a big day for the students and a day of pride for their parents and all involved.

Promotion Test

The next scheduled Promotion Test for the Weisberg TKD Center will be held on Saturday, June 15th. The testing site is at the Itasca Park District, downstairs in Iris Room B, starting at 10:00 sharp. All eligible students from our Itasca, Elk Grove, and Schaumburg locations will be testing on this day.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Family members, spouses, and friends are welcome to come and watch this important event in the student's life. Please feel free to take photos and videos. I encourage you to please post any photos and videos to our Facebook page or e-mail them to Mr. Weisberg.

Any students not testing are expected to attend the test, watch, and support their fellow students who are testing. Your turn will come. Also any students not testing are to come in their uniform as they will be participating at various times.

Please mark your calendars. Promotion tests are a very big day for the students and a day of pride for all involved.

All students and parents are encouraged to be part of this parade and to support our school. Please wear your uniform, headband, and gym shoes. Please bring water. We will be throwing candy, demonstrating, and developing confidence, leadership, character, and having fun. At the same time, we will be honoring this important holiday.

Please park on side streets south of Bryn Mawr. There is no parking on Bryn Mawr and on Catalpa north of Bryn Mawr.

Parents will also be walking with their students. Please throw candy underhand and toward the curb to avoid hitting anyone. Thanks.
